Not worth the money..

I've been to Pope's three times, and the first time was fun, but the third time going, I realized that no one was in costume. The vast majority of employees were only wearing a mask with a t-shirt and blue jeans. The props are neat, and it seems like they spend a lot of time setting up, but they should really invest in better costumes and more creative ways to scare people.

Pope's Haunted Farm is a wonderful event. The first time I heard about it, I was unsure if I wanted to go. But finally in fall Ressurection 2009, I was aloud to go. So we got ther and parked in the parking lot right before sunset. I looked to the window and saw a clown with fang teeth staring in at me. That Sent me reeling. I climbed over the seats and ran out of the back of the car. I was scared before I even went in!
We went on opening night, and tickets were half-off, so we went on everything. First we went on the hayride. I am proud to say that I was on the first hayride of the season. We eased along. They told a story about how popes used to be a nature trail and how people used to flock from all over to walk it. But Jasper the man who owned the farm before the Popes family did, came to get revenge on them for taking their land. So Jasper killed all of the people at Pope's nature trail, and he and his followers are still in the darkness. We eased into and old shed-and there was a man, tied up on a hammock-like lounger. His stomach was-need i say? It was so fun, so gory and gave me a lot of memories. You saw many familiar characters-Freddy,Jason, Chucky and Leather-face. They even pulled one girl off of the wagon and shredded her to bits.
After that, we went to the haunted forest. We stood in line for a matter of mere minutes before it was our turn. A girl that was on the hayride had gone with us to the forest and was going in with us. We got up into the small room, that had a baby hanging from the cieling in it. They gave us some rules and sent us in. The story of the haunted forest goes like this-once ther was a trailer park and a railroad. But evil showed up and massacred the inhabitants. We are sent into the woods, that grew up around the trailer park, and we see abandoned houses. But when you go in, you find that they are not abandoned. In one room, the walls start closing in on you. In a clearing of the forest, a hearse almost hits you and does a drive-by on you. Of course, in the big finale, you get attacked with chainsaws.
We then went to the barn. The girl came, too. I have to say, the barn was the scariest part of the trip. You went in and went to an old room. You sat down. Suddenly, the TV would flash on, and Jigsaw would give you the rules. You would go into the maze and be out in 20 minutes. If you were not out, you were going to die. When you go into the maze, darkness is all around. One of the first scenes that year was the hen house. There was a man in there. The lights flashed. They came back up, the man's bdy was splattered al over the floor. The lights go off, and come back up, and the killer is there in front of you. Our group did not finish on time, so the walls closed in on us. They are inflatable, but you couldn't see them coming. They were seemingly invisible in the darkness. We eventually made it back home, but I didn't fall asleep. I now go back every year. I went to the 2010, which is another long story to which I will relate you later. I am looking forward to the 2011 Pope's season.
